4T

The 4T is my favorite hike around here for two reasons:  first, I think it's awesome that you can hike right through a forest in the middle of the city; second, it's the only hike I've been on around here.  One less-than-awesome part is that Eliza thinks she still needs to be carried the whole way.  Anyway, we took Ryan's family on the hike (Jerel manages to be "busy at work" anytime I go on the 4T) and had a fun time.  It's about 4 miles of hiking and as long as he has someone to hang out with, Zay walks the whole way.  It's called the 4T because you use four methods of transportation, each starting with a t:  trail, tram, trolley, and train.  So we hiked first, then rode the aerial tram from OHSU (where Jerel's arm was fixed) down to the city.  Next we rode the trolley over to the train.  And then we took the train back to the beginning of the trail where we had parked our cars.

Eliza slept about half the way.  She may only be in the 3rd percentile for weight,
but she sure got heavy really quick!

My kids during the lunch break.  There's a great little gazebo area
where we stopped to eat.  Rather than just having a granola bar for
a snack, when my kids are eating on the go they have a complete
lunch:  2 granola bars each.  They won't eat sandwiches or fruit or really
anything so whenever we need a sack lunch it's really just a big
sack snack.

Waiting for the trolley:  Brigham, Mollie, Eliza, Bonnie, Sophie (on Ryan's back), Lincoln, Bonnie, and Amy.  Isaiah is dancing in the front.
